Stark subject matter, the beds of homeless people in institutions. These large-scale photographs resonated with affinities to painting. Managing to avoid ‘the poverty is chic’ syndrome by virtue of their seductive poignancy, sense of presence and human sympathy. During the time-span of this exhibition the images were also presented and placed at bus stops throughout Cardiff.
