School groups are invited to visit the gallery during exhibitions. If your school would like to take part in a workshop with an artist please complete the booking form (in blue box) and either post or email back to BayArt. These practical sessions aim to educate and inspire young people to have confidence in their own creativity and to find out more about Art.  A visit to the gallery can help with the question of why it is important to see real objects in a gallery space and how we give objects value. They will be able to record and analyse first hand observations about the work on display. They will gain insights into the work, and will be able to make reflective evaluations about their experience. Working with an artist in a situation outside of the school environment might also stimulate independent choices of research.

‘BayArt is an invaluable resource in our local community… the numerous visits and workshops we have participated in have encouraged our pupils’ active engagement with art works and artefacts, the development of skills, knowledge and understanding’.
Shubnam Aziz, Mount Stuart Primary

‘We have been able to give these pupils first hand experience of contemporary Welsh Art; whilst extending their experience of concepts and ideas from the classroom’
Paul, Llanishen High School

‘I have found working with BayArt to be very worthwhile; pupils have gained insights into the subject which cannot usually be achieved on a day to day basis…. I would very much appreciate working with them in the future.’
Nerys Griffiths, Head of Art, Ysgol Gyfun Bro Morgannwg, Barry

‘Fantastic! A whole day of pupils on task and enjoying it! Pupils definitely gained confidence from the experience’
Mrs McCran, Glyncoed Junior School
