Halliday is currently engaged in exploring the nature of temporary structures in building and construction which is in keeping with his wider interest in raw materials and pragmatic decision making. The work he makes is produced out of an ongoing studio practice utilising a mixture of highly developed skills and an amateur improvisation through which he can make enquiries into basic ideas concerning the language of sculpture.
Taylor is drawn to the defunct industrial architecture that exists on the quiet and unpopulated fringes of the modern city. She makes a record through drawing and watercolour and small scale constructed sculpture recalling aspects of these peripheral and forgotten structures.
